L Whatnell Roofing - Flat roof repairs & replacements

Flat roofs

A flat roof is a roof which is almost level in contrast to the many types of sloped roofs.

The slope of a roof is properly known as its pitch and flat roofs have up to approximately 10°.

Flat roofing is normally used on small buildings, garages, sheds, above bay windows, and outbuildings.

The type of building usually dictates the suitability of materials, although all options can be considered.

The three main options are:

Felt, Rubber and Fibreglass

Firestone RubberCover EPDM Roofing System is the ideal, durable solution for small residential flat roofs such as: extensions, verandas, dormers, porches, garages, carports, garden sheds, balconies, gutters, trailers.  We are fully trained in the expert application of this product and will give you a 25 year guarantee on all full installations for your peace of mind.

A traditional felt roof is a flat roof surface that is built up using a wooden base and adding 2-3 layers of bitumous felt. These are then bonded together with heated bitumen and are subject to a finishing top coat that provdes both and attractive surface whilst helping  protect the new roof from the elements. This type of roof forms a dense and impermeable barrier to the elements.
